I’ve been praying more lately.
I’m not saying that because I think I’m awesome for doing it, but because I am slowly realizing an obvious truth: when we pray into God’s will, he does it.
Lately, I’ve been praying to share the gospel more with people. It’s a prayer that fits into the cup of my hand when I pray it, one that has been waiting to flutter out for years but hasn’t grown yet because I haven’t exercised it. Because on my own, I am painfully inadequate and infinitely bad at stepping out. And you know what? When you ask God for things that are in his will, he does them in plenty.
I was on my way somewhere on a Thursday afternoon when a voice asked me if I could spare a cup of tea. On my left, a seemingly homeless man was standing. And I heard a small voice whisper “pray for him”. So we went to the everpresnt Greggs, bought some tea, and I asked.
Imagine my delight at finding that this man was already a Christian! He already loved Jesus! And he asked for me to pray that God would use him right where he was. What a prayer that is.
I am praying for him. And I am honoured that God let me pray for someone whom I didn’t even have to go looking for- he walked up to me. God is faithful.
What are you praying for right now?
