Today I’m thankful.
Thankful because I’m here
So often we get caught up
With many blessings around us
That we can’t see
There’s got to be something more
And the truth is, there is more
But we’re thinking of the wrong more
More than the blessings that I can see right here
More than a roof over my head and clothes to wear and people around me who care
We forget not only these blessings-
But the ones we can’t see
The blessing that someone cared enough to die
To take our place
To finish our race
To conquer once and for all what we started at the fall and finally bring us back home.
We forget to be thankful that we’re not alone
We forget to be in awe of little things
Like rain and hugs and leaves on trees
We forget to stop racing and simply be.
To thank God for little things.
Today I’m thankful.
I’m thankful that I’m here.
Awesome poem! Love it
