Hong Kong Trip!!!

Hey peoples!*

So back in January I joined a youth organization called FireStarters. FireStarters is 40ish youth +leaders who go to a different church for one weekend per month. We sleep on the floor, do worship and teaching together, pray TONS for each other and others, and do some incredible outreach. I usually do prophetic prayer with a team at one of our outreaches- something that was fairly new to me when I first joined! It’s been amazing learning from the leaders (and teens!) at FireStarters.    People have been healed and brought to Christ through the amazing ministry that they’re doing and I am so glad that I get to be a part of it all. It’s like getting together with family to worship our heavenly father one weekend a month. With them I’ve done a lot of outreach work around Scotland (most recently we were in Oban and stayed at a YWAM base. We went and worshiped and danced on a hill 🙂 ) and it has been an incredibly opportunity to grow in my faith.

FireStarters: A Generation set on fire for Jesus to be sparks of revival. Also pranks. We- I mean some people (obviously not me) do pranks.

This summer I have another awesome opportunity to take part in- FireStarters is joining up with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and doing an outreach to Hong Kong!! Three other teens, two leaders and myself will be heading over there July 11th-31st. While there we are going to be doing a YWAM training camp (July 14th-19th) where we will be participating in team building, faith, growing in our relationship with God, and outreach around Hong Kong. After that we’ll be doing a two-day out reach around Hong Kong that will involve drama (whoop whoop!) , community work, street evangelism, and who knows what else! Following that FireStarters is going to a local church that has been very involved in global prayer and we’ll be helping out by teaching doing some teaching on hearing God’s voice and doing outreach around Hong Kong.  WHAT? I AM SO EXCITED!!! 

Now, obviously flights and food and accommodation cost money…and I have less than two months to raise the $2100 CAD (1,200 UK Pounds) needed for the outreach. So if you feel lead to donate, please do. 

You can give online here if you are in Canada and here if you are in Britain. 

BUT if giving financially isn’t something you feel lead to do right now, there are other things that are just as important. 

1. Praying for outreach. I cannot stress this enough. Prayer is the single most important thing you can do for anything. Please pray for God to open people’s hearts and give us opportunities to share the gospel with them.
2. Sharing with friends. Do you know some people who are interested in sponsoring short term teen missions? Please consider sharing what we’re doing with them.
3. Prayer for travels and teams. People coming to the YWAM camp will be from the UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and surrounding nations. Please pray for safety during travels for everyone and that God would grow us close during our time as a team.
